The intention of this award is to help raise the standard for professional grooming and highlight the better outlets available in the UK.

Despite this outlet being outside of London it could easily sit within any part of the capital city or any other city for that matter! The proprietor Jason Holland’s background certainly helps, having worked and been involved with training at Trumper’s. The outlet is not over capitalised with an investment of £35,000 and there is a state of the art computer system. It is not about having the biggest and most expensive outlet and as can be seen it does not have to be in London.

The reasons why Male Concept received the 2006 men-ü über groomer award were:

• Quality of services including cutting & styling, wet shave & facial (second largest service after cutting & styling), colouring.
• Comfort of outlet including good furniture, plasma screens, music, up to date magazines.
• Cleanliness of outlet including the toilet (often forgotten but does reflect what is thought of clients and staff).
• Business level relative to outlet budget and number of styling stations.
• Good parking facilities (this is not essential but if you have it in the right location it can only help.)
