Lloyd Hughes - Creative Director
Lloyd has been a hairdresser and educator for many years working in Manchester, London, Portsmouth and now Southampton as well as educating throughout Europe for both American Crew education and latterly as men-u creative director.
In 2011 he made his debut at the Sydney Hair Expo, Australia’s biggest hair and trade show where he worked on stage as a men-u ambassador. Lloyd has also taken part in T.V makeover shows.
“Education is everything in men’s work however every good hairdresser knows we need the tools to partner us. It’s for this reason I got involved exclusively with men-u as it is a company who’s whole focus is on men and only men.” Lloyd Hughes
Ian Turner - Senior stylist
Ian has cut hair in the Winchester and Southampton area for the last 11 years building up a strong local clientele with his fusion of strong classic lines and innovative men’s hair styling.
Many of Southampton’s up and coming men’s stylists have passed through the hands of Ian in his role as an educator through local Colleges.
Ian said of his return to Southampton “The chance to work in an outlet where the customer’s needs come first and are served by expertly trained staff is a rare opportunity in Men’s work that I could not resist”
Lauren Lawson - Stylist
Laurens accelerated progression in men’s hairdressing is down to her dedication and passion to further herself in the world of men’s hairdressing.
Lauren received her training through Lloyd Hughes a well established educator for both American Crew and men-u (see profile) whilst completing her college qualifications in super quick time gaining the highest grades possible.

Jamie Fish - Salon Executive
Jamie’s role as salon executive was created to allow the hairdressing staff to get on with what they do best whilst Jamie works away making contacts within this great city as well as marketing the men-u outlet with the aim of establishing us as number one in Southampton.
Jamie comes from a sporting background, after graduating from university he played high level rugby for Ordizia in Northern Spain last season. He can now be seen “off loading” the ball as quickly as possible in Basingstoke’s back line on most Saturday afternoons.
“I believe hugely in the men-u products, and get a great buzz working here in Southampton with this team of stylists, while learning a huge amount about the complex men’s hair industry.” Jamie Fish
